Hye-Jin is a bold loving kid, who grew up sheltered from the world. He tried his hardest to be independent of the lightning clan, but since he couldn't Hye-Jin tends to be somewhat fierce and aggressive. After all, he was a cooped up teenager who just wants to see the world. Hye-Jin doesn't take being the Avatar seriously like his elders would want him to because they wouldn't let him leave. He is still a teen and because of this Hye-Jin really just wants to explore the world, but his goals have somewhat shifted. Hye-Jin has refined his own highly aggressive dexterous lightning fighting style, but he wants to expand his bending into other elements.
Appearance:
Hye-Jin stands at 6'1 with a weight of 155 pounds. He has wavy brown hair that spikes upwards. Hye-Jin has light earthen green eyes, and the teen covers his forehead with a red-orange tied cloth headband. Hye-Jin wears a brown and red-orange accented jacket with his right arm sleeve missing at the shoulder. He has two conductive bells attached to the collar of his jacket. Under his brown jacket, he wears a completely red-orange athletic shirt. On his right arm is a black band wrapped around the top of his arm, lower down he wears a brown cloth elbow band. After his jacket Hye-Jin wears a pair of baggy black pants that stop tightly at his ankles. Finally the teen owns a pair of black slip on shoes.
History:
Hye-Jin was orpahned at birth, his mother left him at the lightning temple. The lightning temple had made its goal to find the avatar since they knew it was going to be a firebender. Therefore they took in a large amount of children. From day one they closed their doors to the outside world and began to perform tests. Each test was to determine who the avatar was. Since the only known way to determine who the avatar was an ancient airbending test and a government issued test the lightning clan had to resort to different methods.
It took them years to even start testing, as the outside world got worse they had been hidden away with children that could harness the power to save the world. The lightning sages researched this whole time and they soon found out an ancient fire sage avatar identification system. Using this method they found out Hye-Jin was the avatar at age 8. From here the boy got special treatment being separated from all others but the sages he was trained. Learning how to firebend first of all he grasped the bending immediately, but the sages didn't only want to teach him this. They spent a year and a half perfecting his firebending, and once he was 9 1/2 they became determined to teach him how to bend lightning.
Three years had passed and Hye-Jin had seemingly mastered lightning bending. Some would even say he surpassed the sages because he formed his own unique fighting style. Finally, the sages recognized Hye-Jin's true potential. From this point on the boy thought that they'd let him leave or at least make friends, but sadly they didn't. Hye-Jin spent two more years training.
One night an older man had found the hidden temple. He stated that he was a waterbender and wanted to teach the avatar. How he knew the avatar was here no-one knew, and because of this, it took the sages weeks to let them in. Once they did he started teaching the avatar basic waterbending. Sadly this older man was a mediocre waterbender and taught Hye-Jin the few things he knew.
On the teen's fifteenth birthday Izumi, the mediocre waterbender, had told Hye-Jin that he wanted to take him to the Northern Water Tribe so he could learn more. Whenever they presented this information to the sages they firmly denied the request. A week later the two left in the night on a small boat.
Their journey was moving along calmly and Hye-Jin had been practicing the only waterbending he knew. Izumi had mentioned some master, but he never told Hye-Jin who this master was. Nearing the Northern Water Tribe their ship was attacked by a group of mysterious benders. Somehow they knew that Hye-Jin was the Avatar. Before they killed Izumi and destroyed the ship Hye-Jin escaped on a small raft. He was left with the note "search for Master Xi".
Using his mediocre waterbending Hye-Jin drifted towards the Northern Tribe. He arrived on the shore of a small village, freezing and in search of one man his journey truly begins here...

Conductive Chained Kama: This is a normal kama made from conductive metal, attached to the end of the kama is a 15 foot lightweight chain which is also of course made of a conductive metal.
Bending:
- Firebending: Hye-Jin's usage of firebending is quite advanced, he is more skilled with lightning bending, but his firebending ability is as stated advanced.
- Lightningbending: Hye-Jin is an expert when it comes to lightningbending, he trained for years allowing him to be extremely proficient in it. He has even designed his own fast paced fighting style around it.
- Waterbending: Hye-Jin can only perform the most basic waterbending abilities.
